Model Overview
The GX 460 is offered in two trim levels: Base and Luxury. There's a single powertrain on offer in the GX 460, a 4.6L V8 that provides 301 hp and 329 pound-feet of torque attached to a 6-speed automatic transmission, enough for those who need to tow or just run errands. A full-time 4-wheel-drive system is standard on the GX 460 which includes a Torsion limited-slip center differential and an electronic locker to help with mud, sand, or snow. An automatic mode for most driving sends about 60 percent to the rear wheels and can vary power distribution to help gain needed traction.

The adaptive variable suspension system includes Normal, Sport and Comfort modes, while the adjustable height control helps keep the vehicle level when towing. For those who plan to venture off-road, the standard Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System uses hydraulic pressure to help keep the body stiffer and more level on the road yet allow more wheel movement during off-roading.

The GX 460 comes with a full complement of ten airbags. Vehicle stability is maintained by a suite of systems. The usual stability control and brake assist improve on-road behavior. Crawl Control and Downhill Assist Control helps maintain poise and traction when moving over challenging terrain off-road. More advanced available safety-tech features include Active Lane Departure, which will alert the driver if they were to wanders out of a marked lane and steer it back into the lane when need. Other standard safety features, automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot warning, rear collision automated braking, driver attention alert, and adaptive cruise control.

Inside, the GX 460's interior is spacious but with a truck-like feel. The sitting position is rather upright and provides a good view to the front. Front-row captain's seats are very comfortable and supportive, while the second row is adult-sized and can slide fore and aft by several inches. A diminutive third-row adds two more seating positions. The GX's rear hatch opens to the side, rather than upward.

The interior of the GX is awash with, a power moonroof, driver's seat memory and dual-zone climate control. A 9-speaker sound system is also standard on the GX that includes Bluetooth connectivity, SiriusXM satellite radio, and 4 USB ports. A display screen with trip computer and rear back-up camera display are standard.

The Premium package is equipped with upgraded lighting including auto levelling and directional adaptive headlights as well as headlight washers, LED fog lighting, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second row, 3-zone climate control. Other packages available for this trim are the Premium Plus which adds to the Premium package real wood interior trims, 17-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound audio system, and power folding 3rd row seats. Sport Design Package with Premium Plus and Captain's Chairs has sporty dark chrome exterior finishes including a 19-inch aluminum wheels.

The GX 460 Luxury trim includes perforated heated and ventilated leather front seats, 19-inch machined aluminum wheels, power folding 3rd row seats, real wood interior trims, heated steering wheel, backup camera, voice activated 3-zone climate control, heated second-row seating, auto-dimming mirrors, rain-sensing and de-icer wipers, and self-leveling adaptive variable suspension with rear air springs. Included within an added Off-Road Package to assist the driver there is a Panoramic Multi-Terrain Monitor with Multi-Terrain Select, and transmission oil cooler. The Sport Package embellishes the exterior with dark gray finish elements and change the second-row seating to captain chairs.
